Important Information for Tour Guests

Our Standard Booking Policies

After you get in touch with us, we’ll chat with you and return with a customized itinerary and a price quote. Hotels, transportation, lunches, and admission fees to various cultural activities are included; airfare, tips, breakfast, and dinner are not included. Many tours also include a welcome dinner. This quote is good for thirty days from the day it was issued. Hotel prices will be based on double occupancy unless otherwise discussed.

Except for day trips, all trips must be booked at least thirty days in advance and payment for all trips is due thirty days before the trip leaves. If you have not paid thirty days before the trip leaves and you have not contacted us, the tour will not run. Day trips must be booked and paid for seven days before the trip.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation:

  • if you cancel 30+ days before the tour, you will receive a full refund;
  • 29-6 days before the tour, you will receive a 50 percent refund;
  • if you cancel with five days or fewer until the start of your tour, you will not receive a refund (except on day trips which can receive a half refund up until 24 hours before the trip).

If you need to reschedule with more than five days notice, advise us and we can apply a portion of your payment to a future trip. There are no exceptions to the cancellation policy, regardless of reason. There will be no refunds for arriving late or leaving early.

We strongly encourage travel insurance. We are not responsible for airline cancellation or lost luggage.

While we try to keep abreast of local politics and construction projects, we cannot guarantee there will be no last-minute changes to the itinerary if cultural sites like archaeological sites are closed. We will do our best to replace the activity with a similar one.

We reserve the right to cancel a trip in cases of force majeure, the failure of third parties to honor commitments, or political unrest. In this case, we will refund guests the full amount of their booking–but we are not responsible for any costs outside of the tour itself, such as airline tickets, that the guest may incur.

All guests traveling with us must sign a release of liability form; a sample can be found here(opens in a new tab). Please do not sign this form; you will receive a version of the form with your invoice. The version you receive may be slightly different. You must sign this form before or along with your final payment. We do not allow guests to participate in our tours without a signed release form.
